Whilst navigating the creative industry I was sorely aware of how few Black designers there were. I also learnt, once through the door, that merit and skill weren’t enough. The name of the game was to be loud and bold about your work as that was the only way some would see your efforts. Something foreign to those who may feel the need to exercise humility in order not to ruffle feathers.

This series serves as a form of self-advocacy but also acts as a form of documentation that I, and many like me, exist within this space.
